1 peter 1:6-7 Trials Leads to Christ.

In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ

In this: 1 Peter 1:3-5

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of JesusChrist from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

  1. You are a member of God’s Family 2.You have a living Hope 3.You have an inheritance in heaven 4.You are kept by the power of God on this earth.

He is not only your redeemer but also your life maintainer. He is not only your redeemer but also sustainer of yourlife.

You are under the power of God in your suffering. So Rejoice Greatly.

If you know the truth of your future, that truth will strengthen you to face present difficulties.

I am in need of $100 today, but I knew that I am going to get much more than $100 tomorrow, that truth strengthens me to endure today’s money crisis.

  1. Paul Knows It: 2 Corinthians 5:1-2

For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven This house (this mortal body) called Tent (temporary)

But we will have a House not made by hand (not made by flesh)it is heavenly, it is eternal called not tent Building( permanent)

In this mortal body we groan, weep, cry (sufferings) we earnestly desire to be clothed with our habitation (new body/new house).

He knew the future so he said;

Romans 8:18

18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

  1. Moses:Exodus: 3:12

So He said, “I will certainly be with you. And this shall be a sign toyou that I have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, youshall serve God on this mountain”.

Exodus 3:1 Mount Horeb is God’s mountain; it is a part of Mount Sinai,on the other side of Red sea.

So Moses said, do not fear, do not panic, you are going to see the salvation of God.

Moses knows very well that they were going to cross the red sea because God said, “we are going to worship The Lord on mountain Horeb”.

  1. Peter

Peter was sleeping in the prison

  1. Because he knew that he was going to die in his old age, just as Jesus said.
  2. I am going to glorify my Lord by the death of crucifixion not by sword. Because Herod had killed James by sword, he was waiting to kill Peter very soon after, just as he did to James (crucifixion was a Roman Method used to execute criminals).

In this we rejoice greatly.

In this you greatly rejoice though for a little while, if need be you have been grieved by various trials

Trials are for a little while (it is temporary)

You must trust Lord in Your tough situation.

1. Isaac.

Ishmael and Isaac were brothers, Ishmael died at the age of 137, so Isaac thought I am also going to die very soon, So let me bless my elder son and die, But he lived 43 years more. That thought ruined the whole family, Elder son married Canaanites women and departed from the house, Jacob run away from the house due to the fear Jacob had towards Esau.

Isaac trusted in his own understanding , failed to ask  God’s council.

In this you greatly rejoice because the trials are temporary.

What Kind of attitude you must have in your trials? Look to God.

Isaac Failed.

2. Israel:

God descended on Mount Sinai in fire, Mountain quaked greatly, Trumpet sound were louder and louder and louder

Israel saw that Moses delayed coming down from the mountain, they said we don’t know what has happened to him, and we need a God which isvisible.

Result 3000 perished.

Look to the Lord in your difficulties.

3. Abraham

Genesis 15:5

Then He brought him outside and said,”Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them”. And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be”.

Remember the promises.

4. Jacob: Meaning Heal Catcher

God was wrestling with this man for 20 years to change this man into a man of God, i.e. Jacob to Israel. God touch his hip in order to stop his running for blessings.

And when Jacob had finished commanding his sons, he drew his feet up into the bed and breathed his last, and was gathered to his people.

Hebrew 11:21

By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph, and worshiped, leaning on the top of his staff.

He was using a staff to walk, because God touched his hip, he was  not able to move his leg freely, when he was dying, he worshiped the Lord leaning on the staff and he drew his leg into the bed and died.

Beginning was not good but End was so good.

Now it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out to his brethren and looked at their burdens. And he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his brethren. 12 So he looked around, and when he saw no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him inthe sand.

Moses failed to look “High” way, Somehow he knows that he is the deliverer, so he tried to save one of his brother by killing an Egyptians, In this situation, the will of God is right to save that person but the way of God is not killing an Egyptian to save his brother.

Way of God is so important as the will ofGod. He did the will of God by using his own way.

Ex: If God’s will is to host a meeting, for that purpose you don’t have to borrow money and host it.

If God Guides you, God will provide, otherwise that is not the will of God.

Moses failed to look God in his tough time.

Various Trials (manifold trials)

Many colors,  small and large, in different level.

Pain has various faces, and colors.

God will never permit you to take a cross before he knows the strength of your shoulder. He will never allow the trials beyond the level you can endure.

Trials are not destructive, but it is constructive. They will build up your character.

If need be. (Necessary)

Peter said trials are sometimes necessary in our life

  1. Trials will bring you near to Jesus
  2. Trials will make you humble/give you humility/increase yourperseverance.
  3. Trials will help you to grow spiritually.

Trials will bring you near to Christ.

“Unless you peoplesee signs and wonders, you will by no means believe”.

49 The noble man said to Him, “Sir, comedown before my child dies!”

50 Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your son lives”. So the man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way. 51 And as he was now going down, his servants met him and told him, saying, “Your son lives!”

52 Then he inquired of them the hour when he got better. And they said to him, “Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him”. 53 So the father knew that it was at the same hour in which Jesus said to him, “Your son lives”. And he himself believed, and his whole household.

Nobel man: He is a Jew, Working for royalty, belongs to King.

His trial was : His son dying

He might have heard about Jesus who changed water in to wine and he believed Jesus has power to heal my son. For Nobel man Jesus is a miracle worker.

48″ Jesus said unless you people see signs and wonders ,you will by nomeans believe.

Why Jesus said:

Mission of Jesus is fulfill his Father Will

Father’s will is for “everyone believe in his son”, so noone will perish(SALVATION).

Jesus can just heal this man’s son and send him happily back to his home, but Jesus did more than just healing. His words made all the householders to believe in Him.

Jesus is always interested in your spiritual growth than your physical comforts.

Jesus said: Go your way “Your son Lives”

He believed in his word. On the way back to home, he came to know that his son is alive. He inquired the time which he became alive. He understood, it was the same hour Jesus said, your son lives.

He and his house holders believed in Jesus Christ.

  1. He believes in his Power — that is not enough
  2. He believes in his promises —that is not enough
  3. He believes in Jesus Christ — that is enough.

2.Trials will make you humble.

2 Corinthians 12

I went to heaven 14 years before  and sat with God and share precious time with him in his garden, I heard different words , but not possible to speak those words in human language.

Lest I should be exalted above the measure by the abundance of revelation, God permitted a messenger of Satan to buffet me.

There is a very chance that, human to have spiritual pride due to extraordinary spiritual experience. That pain in his body sustained Paul to be always in humble.

Prayer never makes you humble, You have to face trials for humbleness

1 PETER 1:7  Character

That the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ

If  a Gold smith want to measure the purity of a piece of gold , he has to test it , Same like goldsmith, God will test your faith to know what kind of faith you have, what are there in your heart.

Gold smith through the peace of gold in the fiery furnace to remove its impurity to fulfill his will on that peace of gold.

Father God put you in the fiery furnace to remove our old nature until he see his son’s nature in us.

How much you can transform to the nature of Jesus Christ, that much you will receive praises, honor, and glory at the revelation of Lord Jesus Christ.
